Regular contact from the moment you hire us: 2 prenatal meetings (about 2 hours each), spaced throughout your pregnancy. In these meetings, we explore topics such as birth planning, comforting movement during labor, fear release, and postpartum preparation.
24/7 on-call availability for your birth from the time you are 37 weeks pregnant until you give birth. Weekly check-ins.
Educated guidance and emotional support via phone calls and texts in early labor.
In person support at your labor whenever you decide you need us.
1-2 hours of postpartum and feeding support following your birth. We stay by your side until you are resting comfortably.
1 postpartum visit (1-2 hours) to process your birth and transition to parenthood.
*At each step along a client’s journey, Kat and Rose collaborate. Though one doula will attend your birth, the experience, training, and intellect of two doulas is woven into the fiber of each service.

So so so much of support happens outside of labor. Some parents prefer to give birth without a doula, but feel they can benefit from a birthworker’s expertise while navigating their pregnancy, birth planning, or postpartum recovery.
We have found great success meeting with our clients at their own pace for one hour counsel sessions. Some clients love weekly meetings, but the schedule is always up to you.
Counseling sessions might be a good fit for you if:
You would feel uncomfortable with a doula in your home or at your birth, but still want the benefits of working with a birth or postpartum doula
You find googling information about birth overwhelming or time consuming
You’d like to clarify choices and talk through your options
You are experiencing a great deal of anxiety as you consider birth options or your transition to parenthood
You need information about building a community and connecting to long-term resources
You are “doula curious” but not ready to commit to hiring a doula at this point
You feel alone or overlooked during your pregnancy or postpartum journey
You have particular pressures or needs surrounding your birth that aren’t covered in the typical birth prep books
You are excited at the thought of chatting with a doula in a focused, low pressure setting
Note: We are not licensed therapists, but we are here for your counsel.

Depending on your needs, Lactation Support Sessions may include:

Troubleshooting early or ongoing pain and latch issues
Talking through (loose) schedules and/or the logistics of feeding on demand
Evidence based answers to your question (Provided on the spot or, for more complicated questions, delivered via email within one week of our session)
Non-judgmental support for the method of feeding that feels most authentic and beautiful to your family
Referrals to our network of trusted experts when bodyfeeding challenges are outside of our scope
